p-Value

Acceptance Domain AαA_\alpha

p(t)=inf{α(0,1):tAα}p(t)=\inf \left\{\alpha \in(0,1): t \notin A_\alpha\right\}

Interpretation

  • Smallest level α\alpha which leads to rejecting the Null Hypothesis.
  • <

High p-Value of yy means that yy is typical of random variable YY.

For example for an Exponential Distribution small yy are more typical. We thus define the p-Value as p(y)=P(Yy)p(y)=P(Y\geq y) which is small #question.

#todo Second example with Normal Distribution
